July 8, 2026
On June 13, 2025 the Texas Medical Board suspended the license of your colleague, Dallas psychiatrist David Livingstone Henderson, after finding that he suffered from impairment that interferes with his ability to practice medicine safely and that he had been indicted on two felony aggravated assault charges involving a deadly weapon.
Specifically, on March 28, 2022, Henderson physically assaulted and threatened to kill with a handgun Individual 1, who was pregnant at the time. On April 1, 2022, Henderson was arrested after threatening to kill another individual with a handgun. He was arrested in a public place, at which time a handgun was seized from him. Additionally, a search of his vehicle was performed after his arrest in which law enforcement found a ballistic vest, an AR-15 pistol, a shotgun and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
The Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended Henderson’s license on July 11, 2022, following these incidents, after finding that his continued practice posed a continuing threat to public welfare.
The Board’s investigation into Henderson’s unprofessional conduct indicated that a civil district court issued a Final Protective Order against him for Individual 1 based on finding that family violence occurred and was likely to occur in the future. The investigation further indicated that Henderson was indicted on two separate charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon as a result of these incidents.
