Former Florida Hospital Worker Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Behavioral Health Patients

May 14, 2026

A former patient care technician at HCA Florida Largo Hospital has been arrested after Largo police accused him of sexually abusing two vulnerable adult patients inside a locked behavioral health unit. Se’Jour Deangelo Fulks, 28, was taken into custody May 12 and charged with three counts of sexual battery involving mentally defective victims. Investigators allege the abuse took place over several months while he worked at the hospital’s Largo West facility.

According to police, one patient reported repeated assaults while involuntarily committed in the unit, while another said inappropriate sexual contact began during what was presented as a massage. Detectives say surveillance footage showed Fulks entering patient rooms and staying longer than required for his duties, helping establish probable cause.

The allegations raise serious concerns about patient safety and oversight in locked psychiatric settings, where vulnerable individuals are entirely dependent on staff for protection. Authorities say anyone with additional information about possible incidents at the facility is urged to contact the Largo Police Department’s Detective Amanda Gay.
