Irish Medical Council Cancels Registration of Psychiatrist Amirul Mohd Yunos for Sex Offenses against Teen Patient

Ireland’s High Court confirmed the Medical Council’s decision to cancel the registration of child psychiatrist Amirul Mohd Yunos, who is serving an eight-and-a-half-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences against a teenage girl under 17. The court heard that Yunos, who was working in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) center in Dublin, abused a position of trust after the girl’s parents, who knew him, had sought his help for their daughter’s mental health issues.
