Illinois Refuses to Renew Medical License of Psychiatrist Rajendra Gupta for Failures that Contributed to Patient's Death

On June 25, 2024, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) refused to renew the medical license of psychiatrist Rajendra Gupta, of Chester, Illinois. 

Gupta’s license was placed on Refuse to Renew status for his failure to properly monitor psychotropic medication and treatment plan changes and failure to treat and monitor a patient for symptoms of prolonged QT interval (the the measurement of the time between when the heart muscle contracts and when it relaxes) that caused or materially contributed to the patient's death.
