Silver Hill Hospital: Connecticut Psych Facility Settles Lawsuit Alleging Failure to Properly Monitor Suicidal Patient

Silver Hill Hospital, a psychiatric facility in New Canaan, Connecticut, has agreed to pay a multimillion-dollar settlement to the family of an investment banker who died by suicide while being treated at the facility.
The New Canaan private mental health and rehab facility, known for treating celebrities such as Billy Joel, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson, agreed to settle a lawsuit brought in state Superior Court in Bridgeport by the family of Leo Civitillo, the global head of capital markets at Morgan Stanley, as the case was about to go to trial on Friday.
