Senate Report: Devereux, Universal Health Services, Acadia Healthcare, Vivant Behavioral Put Profit over Patient Care & Safety

Children in residential treatment facilities run by some of the country’s largest behavioral health companies are at risk for sexual abuse, dangerous physical restraints and overmedication, problems compounded by weak oversight and a system that “optimizes profit over the wellbeing and safety of children,” a Senate committee has reported.
