South Dakota cancels license of psychiatrist Donald Burnap following investigation into patient deaths

On March 23, 2007 the South Dakota State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners cancelled psychiatrist Donald Burnap's license. Dr. Burnap came under investigation by the Board for his prescribing practices and the recent deaths of two patients. He agreed to surrender his Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and signed a statement of cancellation of his license which was fully approved by the Board in May 2007.1
