Louisiana Psychiatrist Elizabeth S. Taylor, Already on License Probation for Sexual Misconduct with Patient, Gets Additional Probation

On March 29, 2021, the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners ordered that the license of Alexandria-Baton Rouge psychiatrist Elizabeth Taylor remain on probation for one more year. 

In 2013, Dr. Taylor had her license to practice medicine placed on probation for three years due to engaging in “professional sexual misconduct and other boundary violations with a patient,” according to the Board’s consent order. The Board required Dr. Taylor to pursue treatment and limited her practice to female patients. She was later allowed to pursue medical practice with both male and female patients.

During her probation period, she failed to fully comply with the stipulations outlined in the Board’s order. Additionally, Dr. Taylor engaged in writing a prescription without medical justification and failed to keep appropriate medical records. Therefore, the Board found that ending the initial probationary period would not be appropriate and that extending the probation would serve the public interest.
