Judge Sets Trial Date for Former Travis Air Force Base Psychologist Heath J. Sommer Accused of Sexual Assault

FAIRFIELD, CA — The date was set Monday for a jury trial for former Travis Air Force Base psychologist Heath J. Sommer who is accused of sexually assaulting two of his patients. Authorities allege that Sommer used the guise of what he called “exposure therapy” to convince two women to engage in sex acts with him.

 

Sommer and his attorney, Thomas Maas, agreed during a brief court appearance that Sommer’s jury trial would get underway Oct. 23.

 

He has pleaded not guilty to three felony sexual assault charges and remains locked up in jail with bail set at $750,000.
