State seeks to suspend/revoke psychologist Chris Saindon’s license for drunk driving, causing traffic accident

The California Psychology Board filed an Accusation against the license of CHRIS SAINDON, Ph.D., alleging violations relating to conviction of a crime substantially related to the qualifications, functions, and duties of a psychologist.  The Board’s document states that Saindon, of San Diego, California, was convicted of felony drunk driving and causing bodily injury to another motorist.  Police determined that “Due to [Saindon’s] level of intoxication, [he] was driving northbound in the southbound traffic lane and…collided into the front end of the other driver’s vehicle.”  Police concluded that Saindon caused the accident.  He was sentenced to three years prison (suspended) and was placed on a three-year formal probation.  The document further states that “[Saindon] is a self-described alcoholic” who has “used alcoholic beverages to an extent, or in such a manner, as to be dangerous to himself or other, or to an extent that such use impaired his ability to practice psychology.”  The Board is seeking to revoke or suspend his license.
