New York reprimands, places psychiatrist Meera Goyal on probation for five years for criminal convictions

The New York Board for Professional Medical Conduct reprimanded psychiatrist Meera Goyal and placed her on probation for five years for a criminal conviction.  According to the Board’s Statement of Charges, on or about February 12, 2008, Goyal was convicted in New Hartford Village Court (Oneida, New York) of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (a misdemeanor) and Falsifying Business Records in the 2nd Degree (misdemeanor).  In addition to reprimand and probation, Goyal is precluded from prescribing, ordering, dispensing or administering any medications for herself or her family.
