Prison psychologist Gloria Gray surrenders license during investigation into sexual relationship with inmate

Psychologist Gloria Gray, who was employed by the California Department of Corrections (CDC) at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) in Coalinga, California, surrendered her license to the State of California Board of Psychology for engaging in a sexual relationship with an inmate of the prison who was her patient.  The document specifically states that Gray, who was employed at PVSP from February 2003 to April 2007, began “an extensive sexual relationship” with an inmate of PVSP that lasted from September 2006 to March 2007, during which time Gray sent the inmate numerous letters that discussed the ongoing sexual relationship.  Gray also provided the inmate with cash and a cell phone.  CDC launched an investigation of Gray in April 2007.  Gray resigned during the course of the investigation.  (Stipulated Surrender of License and Order, In the Matter of Gloria Gray, Ph.D., License No. PSY 6683, Case No. 1F-2007-184464, Board of Psychology, Department of Consumer Affairs, State of California, April 2, 2009.)
