Virginia psychologist suspended for "romantic" involvement with patient, was disciplined in '88 for "inappropriate contact of a sexual nature"
July 10, 2008
On July 10, 2008 the Virginia Board of Psychology issued a Consent Order, suspending indefinitely John Gruszkos, Ph.D. The Board’s Order states that Dr. Gruszkos began a “romantic relationship” with a former patient within two years of the termination of the client-therapist relationship. Dr. Gruszkos was previously sanctioned by a Board Order in September 1988, when he was placed on probation for engaging in inappropriate physical contact of a sexual nature with a client. Current suspension of his license will become effective August 1, 2008. He will at that time have to petition for reinstatement. 1
