Mental health counselor John B. Frankenburg guilty of insurance fraud; billed for services despite revoked license

A former clinical counselor in the Finlay, Ohio-area has pled guilty to insurance fraud. Authorities say John Blain Frankenburg, also known as Blain J. Frankenburg, fraudulently billed two insurance companies more than $82,500.

Ohio Department of Insurance Director Mary Jo Hudson said a joint investigation by the Ohio Department of Insurance, the Findlay Police Department and the Hancock County Prosecutor's Office led to the guilty plea.

Frankenburg is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 27, 2011, in Hancock County Common Pleas Court.

The department received a complaint in October 2009 that alleged Frankenburg was seeing patients and billing insurance companies for services he provided although he was no longer licensed to perform such services in the state.

In 2004, the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board suspended Frankenburg's license for three years after it was alleged he had a sexual relationship with a patient. He voluntarily surrendered his license in 2007 after he failed to meet the terms of the consent agreement he signed in 2004.

Frankenburg pled guilty to one count of insurance fraud on December 6, 2010, for fraudulently billing the insurance companies from 2004 to 2009.

Now he is a Romance Scammer on Social media sites. He repeatedly approached me for romance although I rebuffed him saying he lived in another country 2200 miles away. He says he is almost destitute and needs financial support. He targets lonely and financially independant older women. I myself had recently survived cancer and the death of both my spouse and loss of my parents, one to cancer and one to dementia. He promised eternal love and that he will NEVER leave if he was given the money to travel to marry me. After thousands of dollars he wanted even more. When no more money was coming he ended the relationship. No more money, no more Romance!! Isn't that nice? I'm just grateful I didn't sell my house and travel to meet up with him in the States. He promotes his PhD in Psychology heavily to gain trust. Why I wasn't trusting him he emailed his dissertation for his PhD and emphasised how he has practised therapy for 32 years. Right!! A real liar this guy is. He pretends to be a 'light worker but he is deceptive and extremely dangerous. I wish I had googled his name much earlier!! Before I believed his lies and sent him money. I wonder how many other kind and lonely older ladies have been stung by him?? He has a PhD alright! One in Narcissim. And another in Swindling. Also a minor in misogyny. Only a man who has a deep hatred of women could lie and betray them in such a hurtful way.
