Wisconsin social worker Lawrence Kane III surrenders license on charges of false advertising, etc.

On December 12, 2011, the Social Worker Section of the Wisconsin Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling and Social Work Examining Board accepted the resignation and surrender of the social worker license of Lawrence Kane, III.
Kane, who owned and directed Wisconsin Community Mental Health Counseling Centers, was charged by the Board with engaging in false advertising; permitting an unlicensed person to practice psychotherapy; engaging in misleading business and billing practices to the detriment of his patients; intentionally violating patient confidences and engaging in the negligent practice of psychotherapy by conducting sessions in public places while simultaneously engaged in personal errands, among other things.
