Wisconsin social worker David Hamilton convicted of sexual assault, loses license

On May 17, 2012, David Hamilton, a licensed clinical social worker, surrendered his license to the Social Worker section of the Wisconsin Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, and Social Work Examining Board.

According to the Board’s document, on April 13, 2012, Hamilton was convicted of third-degree sexual assault. A criminal complaint against Hamilton stated that on March 5, 2011, at approximately 1:00 am, Hamilton entered an assisted living facility through a back door and went to the room of his 73-year-old mother-in-law, who suffered from multiple sclerosis.

An alarm was triggered when Hamilton entered the facility. Staff conducted a room-to-room check and upon arriving at the mother-in-law’s room, found the door locked. While waiting for a staff member to come with a key, they heard a male voice inside the room say “How do your nipples feel now?” Upon opening the locked door, staff found Hamilton standing over the woman, who was in bed. He was not wearing his pants. The mother-in-law’s nightshirt had been pulled up to her neck and her underwear had been pulled down.

Police arrived and arrested him for operating while intoxicated. A search turned up three condoms in Hamilton’s pants pocket. He said that the patient was his mother-in-law and that he’d come to “say hello” and visit her.
