May 9, 2011
On February 16, 2011, licensed clinical social worker Bonnie J. Ferguson voluntarily surrendered her licensed to the Virginia Board of Social Work, which accepted the surrender for indefinite suspension.
According to the Board’s “Findings of Fact,” Ferguson is unable to practice due to cognitive impairment. It also states that for approximately nine months, beginning in 2009 and extending into 2010, Ferguson provided individual therapy to a client at a restaurant—a setting that provided neither privacy nor confidentiality.
