Washington counselor Robert D. Dismore, had sexual relations with client, surrenders license

Washington registered counselor Robert D. Dismore surrendered his counseling registration to the Washington Department of Health (DOH). According to the DOH’s documents, the state issued Dismore a license in 2000 to practice as a chemical dependency professional and another license in 2001 to practice as a mental health counselor. Both licenses expired in October 2006. In August 2005, the DOH issued an Order on Mr. Dismore based on the following Findings of Fact: Dismore provided mental health counseling to “Client 1” in May and June 1995 and later provided chemical dependency counseling from June 2000 to April 2001. Beginning in October 2000, Dismore “started flirting with and divulging personal, intimate information” to the client. Beginning in December 2000, he began having sexual relations with the client, which occurred over four or five sessions.
