W. Virginia Psychiatrist Alexander Otellin Extradited from Armenia to Face Federal Drug Charges

Alexander Vladimirovich Otellin, a psychiatrist who formerly practiced in West Virginia, was apprehended in Armenia for evading U.S. prosecution on 10 federal charges related to the unlawful distribution of controlled substances. Otellin, a dual citizen of the United States and Russia, fled the U.S. to avoid legal consequences. Following an Interpol Red Notice, Armenian authorities detained him in 2023, leading to his extradition to West Virginia in April 2024.
