October 25, 2007
On October 25, 2007 the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professions’ Board of Psychology put psychologist Efrain Segarra on indefinite probation subject to the condition that he shall be prohibited from providing psychotherapy. The Board’s Finding of Fact state that Mr. Segarra inappropriately touched a patient during a therapy session and later left a phone message to check up on her, aware that he had “encroached upon her personally.” This conduct constitutes a violation of the state’s Board of Psychology Regulations. 1
