Virginia indefinitely suspends mental health counselor Lois Curry's license
May 11, 2007
On May 11, 2007, the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professions suspended indefinitely mental health counselor Lois Curry's license. State documents show that Ms. Curry continued to have contact with a family even after the conclusion of her assignment as an intensive home services counselor and case manager to them. This continued contact evolved into a romantic relationship and eventual engagement with the father of the family. She did this over warnings from her supervisor to cease all contact with the family at the conclusion of her assignment.1
