Universal Health Services: $535M Verdict in Sexual Assault Suit involving Minor

Universal Health Services was recently hit with a $535 million verdict in a sexual assault lawsuit involving a minor who was a patient of UHS’ Pavilion Behavioral Health System, in Champaign, Illinois.
The case, which included negligence and misrepresentation claims, went to trial in March. The jury awarded the plaintiff $60 million in compensatory damages and $475 in punitive damages.
