Texas psychology board disciplinary actions, Fall 2011

The Fall 2011 Newsletter of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP) reported the following disciplinary actions, which occurred from October 2010 to August 2011:

Assessed William A. Montgomery, Ph.D. a $1,000 administrative penalty for failing to safeguard patient records.

Assessed William M. Moss, M.A. (psychological associate) a $350 penalty for failing to report a legal action taken against him to the Board.

Suspended the license of Matthew L. Nance, Ph.D. for one year, with suspension probated and assessed an administrative penalty of $1,000 due to “personal problems with potential to impair competency.” He was additionally required to provide notice to the Board of completion of his court-ordered program.

Assessed John W. Pope, M.S. (licensed specialist in school psychology) an administrative penalty of $350 for failing to report a legal action taken against him to the Board.

Assessed Geoffrey T. Sanderson, M.A. (licensed specialist in school psychology) an administrative penalty of $500 for failing to report a legal action taken against him to the Board.

Suspended the license of Laurel L. Strahan, Ph.D. (licensed specialist in school psychology) for six months with suspension probated. Strahan provided psychological services in the public schools while her license was delinquent. She was also assessed a $500 administrative penalty.
