Texas psychiatrist under investigation for abuse of opioid prescriptions

Dr. Jason Evans, a psychiatrist in Texas, was temporarily suspended after an investigation found he wrote more that 4,000 opioid prescriptions in one year.

He is currently under investigation by the Texas State Medical Board.

Investigators say from August 2016 to August 2017 Evans prescribed 4,906 opioid prescriptions among many others.
