Tennessee psychologist Roger Morgan fined $5,000 for lying to FBI

On June 21, 2010, Tennessee psychologist Roger Morgan was fined $5,000 in U.S. District Court, as the sentence for his March 2010 conviction for making materially false statements to the FBI, relative to his dealings with now-disgraced Tennessee former state senator John Ford. 

Ford and other Tennessee legislators were convicted of taking cash from FBI agents posing as corrupt businessmen in the "Operation Tennessee Waltz" sting. He was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for bribery, wire fraud and concealment. 

During Tennessee Waltz, the FBI captured Roger Morgan on tape during a visit to Ford’s office in which he asks Ford to pass legislation beneficial to psychologists in response to Ford’s request to help raise money for his legal defense fund.  Morgan’s indictment states that he said to Ford, “words to the effect of ‘you need something, I need something.’”
