State suspends psychiatrist David Hackney’s license for controlled substance violations

On March 28, 2007 the Washington, D.C. Board of Medicine revoked David Hackney’s license as he was found to be addicted to or to habitually abuse narcotics or other controlled substances and also wrote prescriptions without a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration and prescribed drugs when not authorized to do so. His licensed was initially suspended in October 2006 for being an imminent danger to the health and safety of the residents of the district — habitual user of crack cocaine and wrote prescriptions for narcotics on an expired license.¹
