State revokes license of mental health counselor Russell Enright over sex with former client
December 23, 2011
On November 3, 2011, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) accepted the surrender of professional counselor Russell Enright’s license, deemed a revocation.
According to the AZBBHE’s report, Enright had been the primary therapist for a client at a residential substance abuse treatment program. A day after the client’s discharge, Enright began a sexual relationship with the client.
The client suffered significant emotional harm as an outcome of the relationship.
On his 2010 license renewal application, Enright incorrectly answered “no” to questions about being addicted to any chemical substances and whether he had been treated during the last five year for drug/alcohol addiction.
