State revokes license of marriage & family therapist Deborah Delos-Santos

On May 31, 2011, licensed marriage & family therapist Deborah Delos-Santos surrendered her license to the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. The surrender was deemed a revocation. 

According to the Board’s report, Delos-Santos submitted an application to the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners in 2009. In March of that year, she was hired by an agency and advised that agency that her psychologist’s license was pending. She withdrew her application in December 2009 due to curriculum deficiencies (insufficient qualifications for licensure).

In June 2010, her employer asked for a copy of her psychologist license. She advised them she would provide a copy. Ultimately, her employer determined that she did not possess a license. She advised them she had a provisional license letter from the Board to prove it but the employer suspended her June 17, 2010. She thereafter resigned. On June 24, she sent her employer a letter dated April 30, 2010 purporting to be from the Psychology Board, stating she’d been issued a provisional license however, the Board informed her former employer that they don’t issue provisional licenses.
