State restrict psychiatrist Marc D. Graff from prescribing controlled substances
November 13, 2013
On August 8, 2013, the Medical Board of California placed psychiatrist Marc David Graff on probation for five years with terms and conditions including a restriction on prescribing, administering, etc. with regard to Schedule II and III controlled substances. This was the result of Board findings of gross negligence by Graff in the treatment of a patient whom he continued to supply and overprescribe maximum dosages of benzodiazepines, despite his knowledge that the patient was abusing these drugs, stealing drugs from her roommate and also had a history of dependency.
He falls asleep in session as if he has a diagnosis of narcolepsy; OR was/is under the influence.
The sanctions are but a mere slap on the wrist in light of the harm he has done.
