State issues charges against psychiatrist Tamer Gaber for "erratic and aberrant behavior"

June 29, 2012

On June 29, 2012, the Medical Board of California issued an Accusation against Tamer M. Gaber, M.D., based on disciplinary action taken against Gaber by the state of Maryland Board of Physicians. The California Board’s document states that Maryland summarily suspended Gaber’s license based on findings that Gaber was terminated from a residency/fellowship program in child and adult psychiatry because of his “erratic and aberrant behavior, which included sudden absences, disorientation, agitation, delusions and paranoia.” A fitness for duty evaluation concluded that Gaber should not treat patients. Gaber was given the opportunity to attend a hearing, which he did not. The California Board is seeking to suspend, revoked or otherwise discipline his license.
