Social worker Lovada Merriweather convicted of health care fraud

On October 23, 2012, the Indiana Behavioral Health and Services Board issued a complaint against clinical social worker and marriage & family therapist Lovada M. Merriweather.
The Board’s document details a number of incidents of billing for services which were not actually provided or which were not provided by qualified personnel but were represented as having been.
Merriweather pleaded guilty on February 15, 202 to one count of health care fraud, for which she was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to pay restitution of $78,409 to state and federal Medicaid programs.
