Social worker Julie Kovac gets six months probation for dual relationship

On January 11, 2011, the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers placed licensed clinical social worker Julie Kovac on probation for six months.
According to the Board’s Disciplinary Action Report of May 25, 2011, Kovac entered into a dual relationship with a client by assisting the client with a move, storing some of the client’s property at her home and facilitating the purchase of a freezer, including exchange of money between the client and a friend of Kovac’s.
Kovac’s conduct also involved disclosure of the client’s confidential client information. In addition to probation, Kovac is required to obtain practice supervision as well as additional continuing education.
