Scottish Psychiatrist Jane McLennan Accused of Making False Claim About Patient

Edinburgh, Scotland - Psychiatrist Jane McLennan has been accused of lying about a patient, falsely claiming he recorded telephone conversations with clients and “felt like hitting people at work.” McLennan is alleged to have knowingly made a string of false claims about the patient in a damning psychiatric report.

 

At the time, the patient was in dispute with his former employer. The psychiatric report was prepared by McLennan following a consultation with the patient in July 2014.

 

The case is being considered by the Medical Practitioners' Tribunal Service Manchester. It is alleged that McLennan's fitness to practice is impaired by dishonesty and that the comments detailed in McLennan's report “were not made by Mr. A [her patient] during the examination” and that the psychiatrist “knew [they] were not made.”
