Rochester Psychiatrist Cynthia Cleveland Hauri Reprimanded Over Opioids
July 26, 2018
Rochester, MN - Psychiatrist Cynthia Cleveland Hauri has been reprimanded for drug prescribing misconduct by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
The Board's Complaint Review Committee said it found that Hauri "failed to document diagnoses, failed to recognize or diagnose chemical dependency" and "failed to conduct physical exams prior to prescribing opioids, never conducted urine toxicology screens on her patients for whom she prescribed controlled substances, failed to have patients sign controlled substance agreements, and did not use the Prescription Monitoring Program."
The State Board this week reprimanded Hauri, meaning that her medical license is still active but restricted. Hauri was ordered not to prescribe certain medications. The Board also ordered her to study pain management coursework and readings in chemical dependency awareness, professional boundaries, and medical records management.
