Rhode Island Revokes Medical License of Psychiatrist Steven W. Powell following Fraud Conviction

The Rhode Island Department of Health revoked psychiatrist Steven W. Powell's medical license after finding that he been convicted of Medicare fraud totally nearly $2 million. The agency's document cites a complaint that it received from the Citizens Commission on Human Rights which contained information about the conviction.

he was CMO at an addiction and mental health company that prescribed medications - was convicted May of 2023 - has active license in some states, suspended in others. Can still prescribe meds from jail in states where he has active license especially with telehealth. His patients just have to ignore the orange jumpsuit.
