July 20, 2017
Ockert Jooste, a psychologist in Namibia (a country in Africa), was sentenced to jail on six counts of fraud. He pleaded guilty on April 20th.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison, but four of those years were suspended for five years. The suspension of half of the eight-year sentence is on the condition that Jooste is not convicted of fraud, theft or an offence of which dishonesty is an element, during the period of suspension.
