Psychologist Stephen Jay Overcash reprimanded by licensing board

On September 20, 2010, the Pennsylvania Department of State Board of Psychology reprimanded psychologist Stephen Jay Overcash because he deviated from the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologist and Code of Conduct by engaging in a prohibited multiple relationship with a patient, failed to decline the role of an expert witness giving a professional opinion regarding custody and visitation unless so ordered by the court, and committed unprofessional conduct by giving an opinion regarding the psychological functioning of an individual he has not personally evaluated.
