Psychologist Ronald Golkow surrenders license, acknowledges charges of sex with vulnerable patient

On October 27, 2011, psychologist Ronald Golkow submitted a letter to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists, permanently surrendering his license, in which he acknowledged that “The Board’s investigation into my misconduct would have resulted in charges under the [Maryland Psychologists] Act for engaging in a sexual relationship with a vulnerable patient and subsequently asking the patient to with withdraw her complaint to the Board.” Golkow acknowledges a list of charges that the Board would have subsequently filed against him, including sexual misconduct, unprofessional conduct and violations of the code of ethics. Golkow was also required to pay a $10,000 fine to the Board.
