Psychologist Eric Felsch Stops Practice Amid Sex Assault Charges

Psychologist Eric Felsch agreed to suspend his St. Cloud psychology practice while he faces criminal charges alleging he had sex with a client. Felsch was arrested about two weeks ago and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. 

 

Felsch signed a document with the Minnesota Board of Psychology agreeing not to practice psychology until the criminal case is resolved. 

 

Court filings accuse him of having sex with a client in and outside therapy sessions between 2011 and 2013. About that time, Felsch behaved inappropriately with two clients and was disciplined by the Board of Psychology in October 2014. He hugged one client for 30 to 40 minutes and "used the phrase 'I love you' as a greeting and farewell" with her, according to the publicly available stipulation and consent order.

 

The board limited Felsch's license in 2014, and he agreed to work under supervision, undergo one-on-one training, go through psychotherapy and develop a network of peers. In June 2016 Felsch got his unlimited license back after meeting the board's requirements.
