Psychologist DeeAnne Lau placed on probation in California and Colorado
January 6, 2011
On August 2, 2010, the California Board of Psychology revoked the license of DeeAnne Lau, Psy.D. However, the revocation was stayed and Lau was placed on probation for three years with terms and conditions.
The reason for this disciplinary action is that on June 19, 2008, the Colorado Board of Psychologist Examiners placed Lau on probation for three years due, according to the Board’s Order, to (a) a “history of emotional problems, including anxiety and depression that are currently being treated or will be treated by therapy” and (b) “Lau repeatedly made incorrect essential entries or repeatedly failed to make essential entries on patient records.”
Terms of the California Board’s disciplinary order include, among other things, a Board-approved practice-billing monitor and a requirement to notify each of her employers a copy of the Board’s Accusation and Order.
