Psychiatrist Sadashiv Rajadhyaksha surrenders license following criminal conviction
December 5, 2012
On August 23, 2012, psychiatrist Sadashiv Y. Rajadhyaksha surrendered his medical license to the Medical Board of California.
According to the Board’s document, Rajadhyaksha, who was employed at a clinic run by the Riverside County Department of Mental Health, engaged in sexual misconduct with two patients to whom he engaged in physical examinations based on patients’ complaints of chest or back pain, in which he touched the patients’ breasts or other parts of their body with his hands or a stethoscope.
Both patients filed complaints with the Board. In response to the complaints, Rajadhyaksha claimed to have not engaged in physical examinations or even possessing a stethoscope. His patient records contained no notation of any such exams.
Further, Rajadhyaksha was charged in January 2012 with sexual battery in Riverside County Superior Court. The criminal information stated that he willfully and unlawfully for the purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification and sexual abuse, touched an intimate part of person, against that person’s will. He was further charged in May 2012 with assault with a deadly weapon.
He was convicted in May 2012 of the latter charge and was sentenced to three years probation.
