Psychiatrist Rama Prayaga disciplined in two states over prescriptions
April 24, 2014
On February 7, 2014, the Virginia Board of Medicine reprimanded psychiatrist Rama Sanyasi Rao Prayaga based on disciplinary action taken against him by the medical licensing authority of the District of Columbia which, in November 2012, fined him $4,000 for providing pre-signed prescription blanks and psychiatric follow-up forms to his medical assistants he supervised, allowing them to practice in his absence over a six-day period but then billing insurance companies as if he’d conducted the services himself.
