On February 8, 2013, the Medical Board of California issued and Accusation against psychiatrist Michael D. Schultz. The document states that Schultz's driver's license was suspended April 13, 2005 due to disability. However, he was arrested March 11, 2010 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Test results showed the presence of opiates. Schultz failed to appear at a November 30, 2010 hearing. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Schultz admitted to Board investigators that he was unfit to practice medicine and wanted to surrender his license but never actually did.
