Psychiatrist John J. Lee reprimanded over tranquilizer prescription
November 21, 2013
On September 12, 2013, the Virginia Board of Medicine reprimanded psychiatrist John J. Lee.
The Board’s document states that Lee prescribed a 15-year-old patient the tranquilizer Ambien but failed to inform the patient or her parents of possible side effects.
At the patient’s final visit, which she attended without her mother present, Lee wrote the patient a prescription for a six-month prescription of the drug.
