Psychiatrist Eduardo De La Cruz reprimanded in Maryland; Florida issues complaint

On November 9, 2012, the Florida Department of Health issued and administrative complaint against psychiatrist Eduardo R. De La Cruz.

According to the complaint, De La Cruz, who is a resident of the state of Maryland, entered into a consent order with the Maryland Board of Physicians on June 27, 2012.

The order consisted of a reprimand and imposition of one year of probation on his Maryland medical license.

The Maryland Board’s actions were based on allegations that De La Cruz violated Maryland law by prescribing medications to a patient without conducting adequate testing.

The actions taken up him in Maryland constitute grounds for discipline by the state of Florida Board of Medicine and Department of Health.
