Psychiatrist David W. Bassett loses license in third state
July 23, 2007
On July 23, 2007, the Washington, D.C. Board of Medicine revoked psychiatrist David W. Bassett’s license as a result of a March 2006 Maryland licensing board action in which his license was revoked for prescribing irregularities, including prescribing drugs in quantities generally considered to be the lethal limit. Further, the Virginia Department of Health Professions also suspended his license in April 2006, upon the evidence of his conduct in Maryland.1
