Psychiatrist David Brody Gets Two Years Prison for Adderall Distribution Scheme

July 9, 2026

Former Done Global Clinical President Dr. David Brody has been sentenced to two years in federal prison and fined $1 million for his role in a multimillion-dollar telehealth scheme that illegally distributed more than 37 million Adderall pills. Federal prosecutors said Brody helped implement clinical policies that prioritized rapid prescriptions and company profits over legitimate patient care, contributing to a scheme valued at approximately $90 million.

Brody was convicted in November 2025 of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to commit health care fraud.

Prosecutors said the California-based digital health company relied on aggressive online advertising to attract patients seeking ADHD medications, while limiting clinicians' discretion and encouraging prescriptions without adequate medical evaluations. Authorities alleged the operation also defrauded insurers and continued prescribing stimulants despite warnings that some patients were experiencing serious psychiatric complications.

Done Global founder and former CEO Ruthia He, who prosecutors said orchestrated the operation, received a six-year federal prison sentence and a $1 million fine after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, health care fraud, and obstruction of justice. The Department of Justice said the case sends a strong message that telehealth companies and their executives will be held accountable when they sacrifice patient safety and violate federal law in pursuit of profits.
