Psychiatrist Ajit Trikha loses New York license following Medicare fraud conviction

The New York Board for Professional Medical Conduct issued a Surrender Order on psychiatrist Ajit Trikha. The Board’s “Statement of Charges” against Trikha alleges that on or about April 4, 2008, he was found guilty in Illinois District Court of two felony counts of Medicare Fraud and was sentenced to 30 months prison and two years supervised release. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation indefinitely suspended Trikha’s medical license in May 2008 for a period of no less than 24 months.
