Oregon psychology board places Rex W. Turner on probation for two years

On December 3, 2010 the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners placed Rex W. Turner, Ph.D. on probation for a minimum of two years with terms.

According to the Board’s document, the general issue under question was whether Turner’s conduct in the presence of clients had an adverse impact on clients and therapy.

Turner was, at the time of the events which form the basis of this disciplinary action, a psychologist with the federal Department of Veteran’s Affair.

The document states that in one instance, Turner discussed his own legal difficulties with a client who was despondent over her own legal difficulties and in another instance during a session with a different client, engaged in a phone call with a party on the subject of a sexual harassment allegation which had been brought against him.

Terms of his probation include, among other things, working under a practice monitor for the duration of his probation.
