New York psychiatrist Anthony Kim charged with felony
August 19, 2013
Dr. Anthony Kim, 54, was arrested July 30 on the north end of Margaret Street near Seth Square and was charged with second-degree forgery of a prescription and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies, according to a City Police blotter entry.
A pharmacy in the City of Plattsburgh reported its uncertainty regarding the authenticity of the prescriptions to Plattsburgh City Police on July 18, said City Police Lt. Pat Rascoe.
In interviews with police, Kim admitted he stole the prescription slips and forged another doctor’s signature on them, Rascoe said.
The prescriptions were for controlled substances and were intended for Kim’s personal use, he said.
Kim was charged with one count each of the forgery charges after consultation with the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office, Racicot said.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court, which could not be reached Saturday for the status of his case.
Kim had been employed at Behaviorial Health Services North, according to Marketing Director Bonnie Black.
“He is not currently on staff.”
